How to Be a Giver

A personal trainer told a client-friend of mine that he was probably going to have to close his personal training business. This was due to retail restrictions imposed by the pandemic. Amidst this struggle, he also shared concerns over an unexpected visit he received, sparking fears about a possible DCF investigation process.

My friend wanted to maintain his strength and stamina during this crisis. He asked his Trainer what he could do to achieve his goals during the virus crisis. The trainer without hesitation immediately put some weights in his car’s trunk and delivered the weights to my friend’s front door.

The trainer did not stop there. The Trainer also emailed my friend with an exercise routine to do at home with the weights. The exercise plan in this email was drawn up, elaborately designed, and specifically tailored for my friend’s use.

The trainer was not thinking of himself but rather his client’s needs to work out and stay healthy. My friend was so impressed by this solid act of kindness and unselfishness that he sent the Trainer a check for his next ten (10) personal trading sessions. What a “Win-Win”!

Who are you thinking about besides yourself that you can help? Who can you develop a “Win-Win” relationship during this different time?
