Case Study:
This case stems from allegations of physical abuse and neglect of Children by the kids’ Mom. There had also been neglect and abuse allegations against Step-Dad. The reports of physical abuse against Mom were alleged during a contentious time during the divorce between Mom and the biological Dad of the Kids. The reports of physical abuse were alleged against Mom stemming from a situation where the oldest Child was seeking to put Mom in a bad spotlight. Biological Dad made a point to alienate Mom from the kids as a result, often leading to situations that could be perceived as dcf parental alienation. Children were pitted against Mom in this difficult family dynamic.
The allegations stemmed from a very unfair situation. The Child made a recording of Mom doing her best to keep the younger Child from running out of the house. The older Child showed the tape to Dad, who turned around and reported the situation to DCF. He was claiming Mom was physically abusing son when she only restrained him. DCF based their entire report upon these claims. As a result they substantiated concern for physical abuse against Mom. They also looked to support allegations of neglect in addition to this after Dad’s previous false claims were screened out. Mom couldn’t take it anymore.
She was tired of having her rights ignored during the DCF investigation process. Mom contacted Attorney Seaver and quickly received a response. Attorney Seaver worked with Mom and the investigator to identify inconsistencies with the report. There were certain issues with the reports that could not have been true, and DCF chose to ignore it. With Mr. Seaver’s hard work, Mom was able to show DCF that these allegations had been made up by Dad. Together Mom, Attorney Seaver and the Investigator closed the case and saved the family from further issues with DCF.
