DCF Is Absolutely Nuts; Attorney Seaver’s The Only One You Can Call.
“When you get investigated by these people, you realize you’re being accused of something that’s extremely serious. Extremely serious. You couldn’t foresee anybody would ever think this of you. The State is coming and assessing whether they should take them from you. They were calling us before we hired Attorney Seaver.
They were calling us and we were in the position of moving, I missed a call and the next call they’re saying stuff like, we may have to do this, go to court. And, you’re like, “Wait, what?” I missed a call, and I’m thinking, “This is nuts.” One thing, they could perceive and all of a sudden the cops are at your door. For some administrative mess up. Every once in a while you have a kid die in DCF care and then it’s, “Why aren’t these people doing their jobs?” Nobody wants to be the person who missed the sign, right? Therefore thousands of kids get picked up, because what if it’s what if? Now, they’re calling you, they want to meet you.
They want to come here, and you realize, wait, when you first showed up, DCF, and I welcomed you in, because I thought we were allies. And, I opened my heart to you and I said, “Here’s my family,” you made a judgment that this isn’t good enough. Or, this is something. Now, you want more. It feels like every time I give you more, the worse it gets. In other words, you say you want to help me, but the more I let you in, the more you seem to start to take control. The more it becomes, now I have to please you. Now, I have to be afraid that you’re misinterpreting. I have to get my kids to be angels and not children, because what if you perceive that someway. What if you perceive that as somehow reflective on me.
What if you see normal family life and somehow, you don’t have kids, so you don’t know and that just looks weird to you. You’re misconstruing something could have lifelong effects on my children’s lives. And that’s just not acceptable. So, my father worked for DCF for 40 years. What I understood from his job, was he went into situations that were really tenuous. Children were being severely abused and he had to take the kids out of homes.
It was my wife who was getting on the computer, Googling. “You got to listen to this. You listen to this,” and it was, “Here, listen to this YouTube video.” And, it was Kevin Seaver. I’m like, “We got to talk to this guy.” We’ve got to hire him. That’s what happened, “We’re hiring that guy.” That’s what I said. We’ve got to find that guy now. We’ve got to get that guy. I was like, “We don’t need a lawyer, we need that lawyer. We need Kevin Seaver.”
I want a guy who fights. I don’t want just any lawyer, because this is something, I need the best lawyer. She played the videos and I was like, “We’re getting this guy. The guy in the YouTube videos. I need him to represent us then and I don’t care what we have to do. I don’t care what it takes.” I would recommend Kevin Seaver to anybody.
He’s an awesome man, I recommend Kevin Seaver to anybody. If you have been investigated by DCF. If DCF called you on the phone, you need to call Kevin Seaver. If DCF says they want to talk to you, you need to call Kevin Seaver. You need to retain Kevin Seaver, okay. It’s a slippery slope that goes downhill very quickly. Your children’s future hangs in the balance, if you mess this up.”
